Linger

A cozy, narrative-driven exploration game.

The Story

Take a walk through a quiet home as Rem, searching for fragments of memory and connection. In the company of a small companion named Dot, you’ll explore the corners of a house filled with soft light and hidden stories. Will you find what you’re looking for before it’s time to leave?

Gameplay Features

  • Cozy Exploration: Move through a beautifully detailed pixel-art environment inspired by classic life-sim aesthetics.
  • Point-and-Click Mystery: Find hidden cards and interact with the environment to progress the narrative.
  • Atmospheric Experience: Designed for a slow-paced, relaxing session with a focus on visual storytelling.

Technical Showcase (For Portfolio/Capstone)

This project was developed as a Capstone Project, focusing on the intersection of UX/UI Design and Game Development.

  • Engine: Built using the Phaser framework.
  • Art Direction: Custom pixel art sprites and layouts, featuring dynamic depth layering for an immersive 2D feel.
  • Responsive Design: Optimized for Desktop web browsers (Mobile will be developed later).
  • Tools: Developed with Phaser 3, Figma, and Aseprite.

How to Play

There are 12 lost cards hidden within objects throughout the home. To find them, you must follow the story closely. The dialogue will provide subtle hints about where to look next.

Note: You need to talk to Dot first to begin the quest. The card must be revealed in a specific order. If an object seems interactive but doesn't react, revisit your latest hint; you might be looking for a different memory first!

  • Use WASD to move Rem around the house.
  • Click to interact with doors, objects, and Dot to uncover the story.
  • Collect all the tarot cards to reach the finale.
